Welcome!

Join me, Dana, in my efforts to preserve Palestinian heritage through Tatreez.

Tatreez is more than just embroidery—it is a rich, centuries-old Palestinian tradition that tells the stories of our ancestors through intricate stitches and meaningful patterns. Each thread weaves together history, identity, and resilience, carrying the voices of generations before us.

Here, you'll find everything you need to begin or deepen your tatreez journey. From carefully curated supplies to step-by-step guidance, I am passionate about helping you master this beautiful art form while honoring its deep cultural roots. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced stitcher, you’re invited to be part of this tradition—one stitch at a time.

Join me in celebrating and preserving the art of tatreez, keeping Palestinian heritage alive for future generations.

Some background…

Dana is a Palestinian Embroidery artist and instructor located in Northern California. Despite being born and raised in the diaspora, her connection with her heritage is strong and tatreez reinforces that strength. Her parents are from Palestine….her father from Jerusalem and her mother from Haifa, but unlike Dana’s father’s side, her mother’s family was forcibly displaced from Haifa during the Nakba in 1948. Dana was still fortunate to visit Palestine throughout her childhood and shares about the difficulties Palestinians face in their every day life as she witnessed it first-hand during her summers there. That is why she believes and encourages Palestinians now more than ever to embrace their culture and go back to practicing old traditions, like tatreez.
Dana currently resides in Sacramento area and hosts monthly tatreez circle gatherings. She shares patterns she creates and tatreez tips on her Instagram page, @tatreez.with.danduna. Sharing her work on social media has been her way to channel all the emotions she feels as she, like many of us, bear witness to the injustices happening to her people. Her hope is to inspire Palestinians through her craft, to start their own tatreez journey and have it become a way for them to connect with their ancestors and their culture. For non-Palestinians, her hope is that tatreez serves as a gateway for them to learn about the Palestinian struggle and stand in solidarity with Palestine.
